Baby Kitties Born Today

How amazing are God's creatures? Well, I just witnessed one of the most amazing things that ever happens in life! I just watched life come into the world! Yeah, it may have just been a few kittens, but just as wonderful as any other life!

Why have people, in the aspect of bringing forth life, become so dependent on others to get a good outcome. Childbirth is supposed to be painful, exhausting and take a long time! When we decide to have a baby, we don't seem to rely on instinct, we have to get a medical opinion. You go to a nice sterile hospital, where they poke and probe you the whole time. Make you lie on your back which is the most unproductive way to have a baby.

I know watching my Cat, she had had 3 kittens by the time I went back to check on her earlier. When I looked, she had cleaned all 3 and was pushing out the 4th, all the while the other needy kittens were crawling around in the way looking for a nipple to nurse from. That is multi-tasking.

We may deliver a baby, but thats as far as it goes. Other people clean the baby, dress it, and in some cases feed it while the mom recovers. In some cases, as in mine, labor wasn't going fast enough for the doctors, nothing was wrong, they just wanted to do a c-section before any "problems" arose.

So, I had 2 boys, both by c-section. I did breastfeed both, of which I am very proud. I was robbed of the natural childbirth experience but I was determined to nurse my children. With my second it was very hard, and I was met with lots of opposition from the nurses. But we made it, he just weaned at 17 months old.

Why can't we be more self sufficient like Cats, I wonder. I believe God gave us instincts just like he did animals. But in so many cases we are told our instincts are wrong, and because it is a medical professional telling us, we believe it. We can't decide what is best for ourselves and our children. Other people have to decide for us.

What has happened to our society?

Good job Ginger on such a beautiful Kitty family!

Camping on Tellico River (wanna be spelunkers)

We went camping on Tellico River for a few days and had a great time. We stayed at the state line campground. The boys and I rode bicycles and we went hiking down the road to see a little cave. It was very neat. The little stream that came by our campsite was full of crawldads. We would take the flashlights down at night and count 20 at a time. We went riding in the Jeep with Louis with the top off. We drove over to Green Cove Pond and on the way back we saw a good sized Black Bear less than 1/4 mile from the main river road. Louis went home Sunday morning to feed our dogs and he saw a young bear almost in town.
