Well, Thank the Lord, the morning sickness is gone! I just get to feel bloated all the time! LOL It is terrible, my clothes already don't fit me :( I have been wearing loose Jumpers and sweat pants. I really don't want to have to wear my maternity clothes yet!

Morning sickness ( all day nausea )

Well, I am now 8 weeks pregnant and not feeling too well! I am so sick in the mornings I don't even want to get out of bed! Poor Braxton was late for school the other day cause mommy was in the bathroom puking her guts out! Believe me, he told everyone! LOL And where has my mind gone? I actually forgot to pick Braxton up at the end of our road from the school bus! Thankfully my cousin brought him home cause it was pouring down rain! I don't think I will get any mother of the year awards ant time soon! LOL

Capri Sun Pencil Bag

I made this today for my son Braxton. He loves to have neat bags to carry his pencils in. The boys had been drinking lots of Capri Sun lately, then I found patterns for bags off the internet. I have big ideas in store for lots of little metal pouches! LOL :)

My first 2 baby blankets made for friends!

The pin wheel was fun, made it for a church friend. The outdoors quilt was made for my husbands friend who loves to hunt when his wife was expecting!

Some of my first crafts!

Some of my first crafts.

Knitted Purse

Here is a little purse I made on my Knifty Knitter. I love sying that! I am going to make a matching hat and scarf and it will be a little girls birthday present in December.

Baby Books

I enjoy making these baby books. I find them at our Wal*Mart. I like to make them as baby shower gifts. Here are a few I have made my boys.

Toys!

I made this suede bear, plaid donkey, and red eyed tree frog fo my boys. They love the frog, it is their favorites.

Little Boy sock doll

I don't have a little girl, but my boys like dolls too. I tried to make this one look boyish. It was fun!

Knifty Knitter hats!

These are probably the neatest thing in a while I have found to make. I made my boys some cozy winter hats and my son's Kindergarten teacher a gift.

Blankets

I think my favorite thing to make are blankets. I have made a few in my time, but don't have pics of them all. These are some I made for a friends kids for their birthdays. The Clifford blanket fits a toddler bed and was given for a 1st birthday. I included a pillow.
The care bear blanket is a doll blanket and was given for a little girls 4th birthday. I included a pillow and purse made from the same fabric. This was all from my scrap basket! :)

Little pants for my little man!

I made these pants for Korbin. My grandmother had given me a whole bag of old sweatshirts and sweaters. They were a tad too small for me and I just did not want to throw them away. I saw a book about new clothes made from old. That's where I got the idea. I cut the sleeves off the sweatshirts and used some of his pants to cut the crotch right. Sewed them together, and added elastic. Voila, new pants for little man and they didn't cost me a thing. I had everything I needed here at home.

There are 5 pairs I made from sweatshirts like the one pictured. I made one pair from an old sweater, but my husband thinks they are too girly! LOL

In Loving Memory

I am writing this tonight with a very saddened heart! A good friend of ours was in a horrific accident involving a log truck. He was taken to Erlanger hospital in Chattanooga Tn. He showed no brain activity so Tn state law says they can't stay on a ventilator more than 24 hrs. We were all praying for a miracle. He was a very young man, just turned 21 last April. He was married with a 9 month old son.

His family decided to donate his organs. They let his wife lay with him on the hospital bed before they harvested the organs. Most people thinks this is strange, but if it were my husband I would have wanted to. Another lady said, just think, she got to hear his heartbeat and fell his warmth beside her one last time, even if he were on a ventilator.

This is the saddest thing I have ever had to deal with. We did not see the young man every day, but when we did he was always smiling and went out of his way to talk to us anywhere. He was loved by the whole town. We live 2 hrs away from the hospital he was taken to. My husband said there was more than 50 people from our town there.

It is fitting that this young man who was so nice and would give you the shirt off his back, that his organs will go on to help someone else. I like to think that this evening someone got phone call telling them to come to the hospital because someone has donated a heart, lung, kidney, liver, you name it. Someones life was made a whole lot better thru this tragedy.

Rest in Peace Dustin Dwayne Gourley "Bubba". Born April 1988. Died August 2009.

Baby Kitties Born Today

How amazing are God's creatures? Well, I just witnessed one of the most amazing things that ever happens in life! I just watched life come into the world! Yeah, it may have just been a few kittens, but just as wonderful as any other life!

Why have people, in the aspect of bringing forth life, become so dependent on others to get a good outcome. Childbirth is supposed to be painful, exhausting and take a long time! When we decide to have a baby, we don't seem to rely on instinct, we have to get a medical opinion. You go to a nice sterile hospital, where they poke and probe you the whole time. Make you lie on your back which is the most unproductive way to have a baby.

I know watching my Cat, she had had 3 kittens by the time I went back to check on her earlier. When I looked, she had cleaned all 3 and was pushing out the 4th, all the while the other needy kittens were crawling around in the way looking for a nipple to nurse from. That is multi-tasking.

We may deliver a baby, but thats as far as it goes. Other people clean the baby, dress it, and in some cases feed it while the mom recovers. In some cases, as in mine, labor wasn't going fast enough for the doctors, nothing was wrong, they just wanted to do a c-section before any "problems" arose.

So, I had 2 boys, both by c-section. I did breastfeed both, of which I am very proud. I was robbed of the natural childbirth experience but I was determined to nurse my children. With my second it was very hard, and I was met with lots of opposition from the nurses. But we made it, he just weaned at 17 months old.

Why can't we be more self sufficient like Cats, I wonder. I believe God gave us instincts just like he did animals. But in so many cases we are told our instincts are wrong, and because it is a medical professional telling us, we believe it. We can't decide what is best for ourselves and our children. Other people have to decide for us.

What has happened to our society?

Good job Ginger on such a beautiful Kitty family!

Camping on Tellico River (wanna be spelunkers)

We went camping on Tellico River for a few days and had a great time. We stayed at the state line campground. The boys and I rode bicycles and we went hiking down the road to see a little cave. It was very neat. The little stream that came by our campsite was full of crawldads. We would take the flashlights down at night and count 20 at a time. We went riding in the Jeep with Louis with the top off. We drove over to Green Cove Pond and on the way back we saw a good sized Black Bear less than 1/4 mile from the main river road. Louis went home Sunday morning to feed our dogs and he saw a young bear almost in town.
